Int’l Clothing Exhibition Inaugurated in Tehran

The Third International Specialized Exhibition for Clothing and Footwear was inaugurated in Tehran on Friday.

Attended by Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the exhibition was opened to the public at Tehran International Permanent Fairground.

More than 50 domestic companies, manufacturers, and those involved in the garment industry will participate in the four-day exhibition.

The exhibition will be held in a 10,000-square-meter area, 70% of which is allocated to domestic producers and 30% to foreign companies

According to the Iranian media, the exhibition aims to introduce the potentials and capabilities of Iranian costume designers and clothing manufacturers, set the ground for cooperation and cohesion among the activists in the field, encourage competition and exchange of information between manufacturers and exporters, promote domestic production, increase export and enhance the effectiveness of Iranian brands.

The event has been organized by Iranian Working Group for Organizing Fashion and Clothing and the private sector presenting top indigenous clothing products including men, women, and children’s clothing in a variety of designs and colors as well as the most modern devices and equipment for producing and designing garments in various new models.

Domestic producers have only a 30% share in Iran’s clothing market with the rest going to imports that are often dominated by smuggling.
