Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society has said his country is ready to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon and France.
According to ISNA, Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee has sent separate messages to his Lebanese and French counterparts, expressing regret about the recent terrorist attacks in Beirut and Paris.
“Iran, as a victim of terrorism and a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, is prepared to send any humanitarian aid to Lebanon and France,” ISNA quoted Ziyai as saying.
He recalled that the recent attacks by terrorist groups were a clear example of crimes against humanity, requiring attention, disposition and the reaction of the international community.
The president of the Iranian Red Crescent also stressed that Iran would remain alongside the peaceful people and French and Lebanese Red Cross, and that he would spare no effort in order to alleviate the suffering of Lebanese and French.
On Saturday, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani strongly condemned Friday’s deadly attacks in Paris, branding them “crimes against humanity” in a message to his French counterpart Francois Hollande.
Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani has also condemned recent terrorist attacks in France and Lebanon, urging global determination in the fight against terrorism.
