Iranian Girl Breaks Asian Record in Open Water Swimming

A 10-year-old Iranian girl managed to swim a distance of 10 kilometers in the Caspian Sea for 7 consecutive hours, breaking the Asian record in open waters swimming in the category of sub-12 years old.

The event began at 8:00 local time and ended at 14:30 in the midst of extreme heat and high amount of moisture in the air.

After breaking the Asian record, Saina Atashin called on the international community to bring peace to Yemeni children who are under attacks by Saudi aircrafts.

Holding a banner that read “Please Find Out Yemenites Children”, the Persian swimmer urged the international community to convey Iranian children’s peace message to the Yemeni children.

In late March, Saudi Arabia began an air offensive against Yemen without the support of the United Nations, but with green light from the US, in an attempt to restore to power the fugitive president Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally Riyadh.

According to a report by the Legal Center for Human Development, the Saudi aggression against Yemen, which began last March 26, has made thus far, 4025 dead and 8950 injured, a lot of these victims are children and women.

Concerning the devastating consequences of this invasion on the civilian population, Yemen’s Ministry of Health revealed last June that 21 million Yemenis, including a million and a half children, suffer from malnutrition because of air, sea and land blockade imposed by the Saudi regime to its southern neighbor.
