As Israel intensifies its attacks against Gaza, Iran has strongly criticized the regime’s war crimes in the enclave’s eastern Shejaiya district, vowing to stand by the Palestinian people.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Sunday that “The Iranian government and nation, as in the past, will stand by the proud Palestinian people and their brave resistance and will not be silent in the face of the brutal crimes by the Zionists,”
She added that Muslim and freedom-seeking nations in the world would undoubtedly give an “unforgettable lesson” to the Israeli regime on Friday’s International QudsDay in support of the Palestinian resistance against the Tel Aviv regime.
Afkham once again called on international and regional bodies to fulfill their duties and put an immediate end to the Israeli regime’s inhuman crimes against the Palestinian people.
At least 60 people, including children, have been killed in heavy Israeli shelling in Gaza’s Shejaiya district since around midnight as Israeli tanks reached the edge of the neighborhood. Hundreds of people have also been wounded.
