Iranian passport adorned with pictures of historic and impressive monuments

1

Did you know that new Iranian passport boasts a new, eye-catching design, in which all 32 pages are adorned with pictures of sites and monuments of cultural and historical significance?

Among the pictures are some of the country’s historical sites inscribed on UNESCO’s lists. The passport’s cover comes in dark crimson.

The shrine of Imam Reza (AS), Persepolis, Bam Citadel, mausoleums of Hafez, Ferdowsi, Abu Ali Sina, Khayam, Attar, Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili, Ali-Qapu Palace, Imam Khomeini Mosque in Isfahan, Boroujerdi House in Kashan, Imam Khomeini Mosalla and Azadi Tower are among the places depicted in the passport.

The last page of the document is designed with patterns used in the architecture of the mihrab in Isfahan’s Jame’ Mosque, Financial tribune reported.

In addition to optimizing security options to prevent forgery, countries try to make passports as beautiful as possible, so a lot of work goes into their designs.

For instance, the Norwegian passport cover is in a variety of unconventional colors such as white, turquoise and red, and engraved with the golden mark of national crown. Placed under ultra-violet light, the passport pages show an image of aurora borealis, or the northern lights.

The Canadian passport is also designed with images of historical monuments and national symbols only seen under UV light. A biometric chip is embedded in the document for enhanced security and prevention of forgery.

Beautiful. A respectful idea to a culture that has been around longer than our religion, Islam. Thanks to the people who made this happen.
