Iranian Students Introduce Italians to Ashura Philosophy

Iranian students in Italy have taken an initiative to introduce the residents in the city of Milan to Ashura and Muharram mourning ceremonies.

For the first time in Italy, Central Council of Islamic Association of Milan, located in the north of Italy, has gathered tens of Iranian students, who are fluent in both English and Italian, to cast light on some questions raised by non-Muslim Italians about philosophy of Ashura, IRNA reported.

The students distribute brochures (about Ashura) and bouquets among Italians, warmly welcomed by them.

The Day of ‪‎Ashura‬ coincides with the tenth day of the ‪Muharram‬ that marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam ‪‎Hussein‬ (AS) and a number of his follower.

Ashura Day is the most tragic day for all Muslims, in particular Shi’as.
