Iranian Women raise “Climbing for Peace” flag

With the slogan “Climbing for peace”, a group of Iranian women conquered the Abidar mountains in Kurdistan province.

More than 150 Iranian women climbers from several provinces of the country on Friday attended the climbing program, beginning from Sanandaj’s Children park to Abidar mountains.

The climbing was carried out successfully with the participation of women climbers from the provinces of Khuzestan, Hormozgan, East Azarbaijan, Yazd, Kermanshah, Ilam, Semnan, Tehran and Bushehr.

Having conquered the peaks of Abidar, the hikers raised a flag depicting the phrase “Climbing for Peace” on top of the mountain.

Abidar mountain is located in the east of Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province. With an elevation of 1722 meters, Mount Abidar is made of Upper Cretaceous rocks and is located in the Sanandaj-Sirjan geological and structural zone.

It is also one of the exemplary tourism zones of Sanandaj. The region has high potentials for mountain climbing.
