Qazvin Azad University was chosen as the best foreign car participating in the 2014 American Solar Challenge, a Solar Car Race that began July 20 in Austin, Texas
Qazvin Azad University’s team finished the American Solar Challenge in Eighth place overall among 33 teams.
It was recognized as the best foreign team in the tournament and became the first team in Asia.
Coming in first was the University of Michigan, followed by the University of Minnesota, Iowa State University, Polytechnique Montreal, Principia College and Oregon State University.
The eight-day race – which went from Austin, Texas to Minneapolis this year – gives engineering students the opportunity to design, build, and race a solar-powered car.
