The Dizin International Ski Resort in Alborz province was opened earlier this week for the autumn-winter season at a official ceremony.
Built in 1969, Dizin resort is situated just north of Tehran in the Alborz Mountains at an altitude of 8,530 feet and is one of the 40 highest ski resorts in the world
Dizin ski amenities include two hotels, 19 cottages and five restaurants, villas and private apartments around the Dizin ski resort accommodate thousands of people every year.
One of the points that have made Dizin a fascinating place is its numerous sunny days. Others are having global standards such as the course slope, length of the course, and being the place where competitions and races are held. You can also meet professional Iranian ski teams and skiers there.
The ski season in Dizin lasts longer than in European ski resorts, from December to May, due to the resort’s high altitude.
Tehran’s main resorts – Dizin, Tochal and Shemshak - have been drawing huge crowds since the first resort at Dizin opened in 1969. The resorts have all gained global recognition for the having some of the best weather and snow conditioning for alpine pursuits.
