April 30th; National Persian Gulf Day

National Persian Gulf Day is a very significant day for the Iranian people and it is celebrated annually on April 30th.

It has taken place every year since 2004, and is marked with various rituals all over Iran, especially in the coastal cities of the Persian Gulf. The Persian Gulf, in Western Asia, is an extension of the Indian Ocean located between Iran (Persia) and the Arabian Peninsula.

According to the book Documents on the Persian Gulf’s name : the eternal heritage of ancient time the term Persian Gulf and its equivalents have been used constantly since 400 BC, but in 1964 the Arab league ratified a change of the name the Arabian Gulf.

Iran to generate 2,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity

The Iranian Director of Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI)says the country will produce 2,000 megawatts of nuclear power by the end of the current Iranian calendar year.

“So far, 1,000 megawatts (MW) of nuclear power has been generated in the country,” Fereydoun Abbasi said in a meeting with the employees of a research center in the city of Bonab, East Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran.

He added: “Presently, the necessary infrastructure and equipment are being prepared inside the country.”

The AEOI director also stressed the significance of export, and efforts to enter global markets.

Since last year, the United States and the European Union enforced new sanctions on Iran’s oil and financial sectors with the goal of preventing other countries from purchasing Iran’s oil and conducting transactions with the Central Bank of Iran. » Read more

Iranian doctor; greatest world woman inventor in Geneva Festival

An Iranian female doctor working in Mashad Medical Science University received the award of the greatest world woman inventor in Geneva International Festival for Inventions in year 2013.

Dr. Zahra Alizadeh Thani, a specialist in radiology of heart and coroners, also received gold medal and special award of 41st Geneva Festival in addition to her award as the world inventor.

Dr. Alizadeh Thani has invented a device to determine level of tightness of heart coroners.

Egyptian tourists visit Iran for first time since 1979

For the first time since Islamic revolution in 1979, a group of Egyptian tourists has arrived in Iran to visit the country’s ancient monuments

The Realiran website has been informed that a 24-member tourist group is visiting the ancient cities of Mashhad, Shiraz, Yazd, and Isfahan.

Iran, China railway soon to be inaugurated

The Gorgan-Incheh Borun railway will be inaugurated next month, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development told Realiran website.

“This railway which is projected to link Iran with Russia, CIS countries and china, will be inaugurated in Ordibehesht 1391 (April-May 2013) attended by the presidents of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan”, Ahmed Sadeghi added

The total length will be 904 kilometers, of which 700 kilometer will be in Turkmenistan and 120 kilometers will be in Kazakhstan, he said. » Read more

Iranian students showing their love to their Egyptian brothers

Tuesday, Iranian students gathered in front of the office of Iran-Egypt Relations to show their respect to Muslim unity and Iranian morality. They also offered the symbolic basket of flowers and held the prayers in the place.

Majid Abulfathi, the organizer of Iranian tours of Egypt rejected any halt in Iranian tourist trips to Egypt, and said no time limit has been mentioned in the Iran-Egypt tour agreement, adding that the agreement is still under implementation.
