Iran Unveils Production Line of Scan Eagle Drones
For the first time, Iran has unveiled a production line of Scan Eagle drones.
According to Fars news Agency, Iran has released the first images of production line of U.S-origin drones.
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear-Admiral Ali Fadavi had said previously that Iran has launched the production line of Scan Eagle drones.
Fadavi announced on December 4 that a US Scan Eagle drone had been captured by Iranian forces over the Persian Gulf upon the aircraft’s intrusion into the Iranian airspace.Iran has released footage of the captured drone, which is a long-endurance aircraft manufactured by Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.
The Boeing Insitu Scan Eagle is a small, low-cost, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.
The Scan Eagle was designed by Insitu based on the Insitu SeaScan, a commercial UAV that helped fishermen look for fish. The Scan Eagle continues to be upgraded with improved technology and reliability.
Scan Eagle carries a stabilized electro-optical and/or infrared camera on a lightweight inertial stabilized turret system integrated with communications range over 62 miles (100 km), and flight endurance of 20+ hours.
