Iranian president Hassan Rouhani was officially welcomed by his French counterpart Francois Hollande at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday.
Rouhani arrived in Paris on Wednesday from a two-day visit to Italy.
It is the Rouhani’s first official visit to Europe and the first by an Iranian head of government since 1999, when the reformist former president Mohammad Khatami made similar trip to Paris and Rome.
