For the first time, Tehran hosted the concert of worldwide famous Japanese composer and instrumentalist Kitaro.
Kitaro gave his first concert at Tehran’s Grand Hall of the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday night.
Japanese composer arrived in Tehran on Monday and was warmly welcomed by head of department of Iran’s Music Office.
Kitaro said on his arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport that “My heart is beating hard and I am so excited to see the audience in concerts,”
He also wished to have the opportunity to get acuminated with rich Persian music.
Kitaro will perform concerts at Tehran’s Grand Hall from October 15 to 17.
Former instrumentalists of Tehran Symphony Orchestra accompany the musician in the concerts.
A winner of a Grammy Award and a Golden Globe Award, Kitaro is regarded as a pioneer of New Age music. He has received fifteen Grammy Award nominations, winning once in 2000.
Kitaro started his solo career in 1977. His first two albums ‘Ten Kai’ and ‘Full Moon Story’ became favorites of fans of the emerging new-age movement.
During 2007-2009 he launched the ‘Love and Peace World Tour,’ an international tour with which Kitaro hoped to inspire his message of world peace with his music.
Kitaro has recently performed in Turkey, Singapore, and Azerbaijan and went on stage in Japan before his tour to Iran.
