The funeral of Iranian popular pop singer Morteza Pashei attracted thousands of mourners including various artistic figures.
The ceremony was held on Sunday morning (November 16) in front of the Vahdat Hall, Tehran.
Pashei passed away at Tehran’s Bahman Hospital on Friday morning after battling stomach cancer for a year.
The 30-year-old is to be buried at the artists section of Behesht-e Zahra cemetery, south of Tehran.
Born in 1984 in Tehran, Pashei was a singer, musician, and composer who started learning music at the age of 14.
His first single track was released in 2010. From the beginning of his professional career, his works were warmly welcomed by the young generation for his special style, voice, and choice of songs. He played the guitar as well as the piano.
Although suffering from the deadly illness, he held concerts this year and performed on the stage for millions of his Persian-speaking fans across the world.
‘Negarane Mani’ (You’re Worried About Me) was one of his most popular songs which he sang for the TV talk show ‘Mahe Asal’ (Honeymoon) broadcast during the month of Ramadan.
Gole Bita (Unique Flower), Yeki Hast (There’s Someone) and Esme Eshqe (Name of love) are among the albums released by Pashaei.
